2019 - 2021

During the Covid 19 pandemic the Travelling Quilts were kept safe but unfortunately were not displayed nor travelled during the lockdown.

Due to ongoing travel and Corona virus restrictions SAQG has decided to disband the collection and return the quilts to their owners.

Vanishing Zebras

Renovated Log Cabin

Modern Brutalism

by Diana Vandejar - Cape Town. Depiction of ’Brutalist’ architecture of the 1950’s - 60’. The stark style of functionalist architecture is characterized by the use of steel.

Dagga Boy

by Wilma Havenga - Fishhoek Cape. During a family visit to Chobe we met these majestic. Moody beasts known as the dagga Boys (pronounced darg-gha), so named for the mud that clings to them. The dagga is the building clay or cement used by locals.
