Paul is a member of Golden West Quilters’ Guild and is the semi-retired lecturer and Director of Communications at the University of the North West.
He has served in various capacities on the SAQG committee and also as the president in 1996-99. Since 2013, again he serves in a leading role, giving advice and objective input.
Paul Schutte is a SAQG Master Quilter and has won a Best on Show in 3 different categories: Traditional, Innovative and Art category at the SA NQ Festivals along with many other awards. His work has received recognition and won awards and been seen around the world. He is a member of Fibreworks and SAQA.
Paul has contributed with educational influences as a teacher, lecturer and quilt judge.
He is a true ambassador for promoting SA quilting internationally which he has done by entering competitions and visiting guilds as a teacher and judge and as curator of exhibitions.
